When buying a new duvet, there are a number of practical issues and personal preferences to consider. With the steps below, Zelesta will guide you to the best choice.

  1. Choose the right size
  2. The required washing machine
  3. Which heat class suits you?

Sizes

When determining the right duvet size, it is wise to first measure the size of the bed on which the duvet will lie. After this, you can determine the right duvet size to fit using the table below.

Which duvet fits in which washing machine?

To wash the duvet, you need a washing machine with the right drum capacity. Depending on the model or size, you can use the table below to determine which duvet is suitable for your washing machine. Don't feel like washing fitted sheets as well? Then try a duvet with a fixed cover. This will save you a lot of time and space in the washing machine.

Do you have a small washing machine? Then opt for 2 small quilts instead of 1 large one.

Warmth class

Some people get hot quickly and for others it can't be warm enough. So many people, so many wishes. Therefore, which warmth class is best for whom depends on the individual. When choosing the right duvet, the right heat class is very important for a good night's sleep. A distinction is made between 4 different heat classes. These are tailored to seasons and the bedroom climate.

  • Class 1 Winter duvet. This class offer the highest thermal insulation and are ideal for winter, a bedroom that gets very cold at night or for people who get cold easily.
  • Class 2 All Year duvet. These duvets retain medium heat and are suitable for a bedroom with a temperate climate all year round.
  • Class 3 All Year Light. This class offers thermal insulation that is perfect for late spring or autumn. This duvet is also suitable for rooms that are well heated at night, or for people who get hot quickly during the night.

  • Class 4 (After) summer duvet. These class duvets are ideal for people who feel hot at night or for summer. It is also useful for a bedroom under the roof, or facing south. This duvet is not suitable for people who get cold easily.

At the table below you can see exactly in which class your favourite duvet falls!
